Child Care Action Project: Christian Analysis of Popular Culture.
Want a good laugh? Check out the movie reviews. Seriously. These people have a problem with Babe. Their review of South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut had me in tears.
(Althought I don't see why they have a problem with 'lust for war'. I thought the super-right-wing christofascists were all about war.)
(Note: I am not saying all Christians are that way. But I have noticed a correlation between those who go out of their way to look for specifically Christian content in traditionally secular areas of culture and the weird, right wing people that give decent Christians a bad name. End of disclaimer. Carry on.)
Today's quest: attempting to get Sean an appointment at Alternative and Augmented Communication (part of the SLP department at Children's.) I'm hoping to get him some kind of communication device type widget; hopefully this will decrease his frustration at not being able to communicate what he wants.
(I don't know why I didn't think of this before. Why didn't I think of this before?)
Anyway, the doctor's signed off on it, so he'll be evaluated for that soon. Must call tomorrow to make an appointment. YAY.
(I adore our doctor; he takes the attitude of 'you know what you need, so whatever you need me to do, let me know.' Anyone who needs a pediatrician in the Seattle area, you could do much worse than UW Roosevelt Pediatrics (our guy is Dr. Metz.)
Have also discovered Etsy. Aren't these tights cute? I bought them this morning. :-)
In search of: a screenprinting class in the Seattle area, preferably one that doesn't cost the earth.
