Colorado woman suggested through change.org that his administration prioritize fully funding Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) supporting children and adults with developmental disabilities.
This is very important to me, for reasons that should be completely obvious. Please, please go here and vote for it; and please spread the link around. Or link to this post. You don't need to ask.
Thanks.
eta: i'm crying. this is just so important for sean's future. if this goes through i'll be so much less terrified about what might happen to him.
eta the second: it's change.org, not change.gov. At the very least it's voting on the issues that need to be submitted, and trying to mobilize social networks to do so. The top three issues in each category are going to be submitted.
eta the third: I know it's not the same as going to change.gov and posting there - that sort of thing should also be done, and I'm going to work on doing that too. I'm aware of that. *sigh* I'm trying to do what I can, which probably isn't enough, I know. I just think it's important that more visibility be given to this sort of thing, because it's just so horribly fucked up. They have waiting lists for YEARS on this sort of thing. In King County (Seattle) the waiting list is SEVEN YEARS LONG at last report, and we're more liberal than most here. It makes me feel sick to think about it. In some places it's decades - and if you move counties you have to start again at the beginning.
