We have been to the pet food store and returned! Notable notes:

• the boy is a pro at putting socks on now! shoes are harder because of the tongue thing. But he does okay with those with a little help. (for the record he can also do his own pullup, shirt, pants (no guarantee those will be the right way around, but they're still done) and to a certain extent his coat.
  
• child + wheelchair works best when he's walking along side me with his hand on the arm. If we're going through narrow places he walks behind me by holding on to the so-called push handles. We are still working on how to negotiate turns in narrow places.
  
• Child is also getting better with follow directions.
  
• Cats ignore the toys you buy them in favor of the things they should not have, like rubber bands. (this is relevant due to the pet store part of our expedition.)
  
• seaners was disappointed that our trip was not longer.
  
• i was keeping the trip short so the maintenance person could come by and put in the other shower bar, which has now happened.
  
• when we returned child took off coat, shoes and socks at door way as he should have with absolutely no preompting from me.
  
• tangentially: i am so TIRED.
