the weekend in lists

Saturday: House season 2 marathon uber-watch. Am now caught up for season 3 premiere tomorrow night. Most excellent.
Yesterday: Watched disk 2 of 'Wonderfalls', boat trip, Baja Fresh, walking across low scary bridges, local food co-op, watched first Miyazaki film (Howl's Moving Castle.) Excellent movie.
Today: Laziness. Made hungarian potatoes paprikash for dinner; watching disk 3 of 'Wonderfalls'.

Seaners has learned, somewhere, the first phrase of Beethoven's Fifth. I am feeling blah and uninspired.

*giggles* Has he sung it again yet? I still think that's just about the cutest thing ever!

PS Your kingdom is under attack by my loyal minions. That is, if kingdom = inbox and minions = an even dozen photographs taken on Sunday. :)

I noticed your minions. :-D Thank you. They made me smile.

He did it again this afternoon, randomly. It's TOTALLY the cutest thing ever. I'd love to know where he LEARNED it, because I don't even have a copy of that particular piece.

I liked "Howl's" but it's one of my least favorite Ghibli films. :) I hope you enjoy some more Ghibli soon!

I think 'Spirited Away' and 'My Neighbors the Yamadas' are near the top of our queue (at [livejournal.com profile] doubletake's recommendation). I love his work so far; do you have any particular favorite? :-)

[identity profile] wintersweet.livejournal.com 2006-09-05 05:32 am (UTC)(link)
I especially like "Spirited Away," "Porco Rosso," and "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind." My favorite is "Whispers of the Heart," though.

"Yamadas" is entertaining but totally unlike their other productions (different director and stuff; see nausicaa.net for details).

Care to share the recipe?

Maybe you can teach him Beethoven's Ninth too. It's very fun to belt out at the top of your lungs, especially in German. And especially if you're kind of making up your own German as you go along.

I love the family pic!

Thank you. :-) I wonder if I could teach him fake German before English? I wouldn't put it past him. :-D

"I am your fate. Come let me in."

...Or at least that's how I always think of the first phrase. Sing it. You know you want to.

That's stuck in my head now. :-)
