It's just that he's having trouble learning how to translate that language into something the rest of the world understands.
My experiences were getting hit over the head several times with the fact that I had clear, simple "words"/concepts in my head and it took lots of words (and occasionally hours or days of thinking) to translate them into English that would more or less convey the thought.
So I'm a strong proponent of the "internal language" model.
