five questions, from [personal profile] spoggly

1. What color is your toothbrush?
It's green and white. One of those battery powered electric ones, but the bottom bit is missing because apparently it's like, perfectly stimmie-sized or something like.

2. If you could live anywhere you wanted, where would it be?
Hmmmmm.
I really like it here, to be honest. I'd probably still live in Seattle and maybe even in my current neighborhood, but I'd be living in a little house instead of an apartment. The weather is usually more agreeable with my temperament here (although I am SO OVER THIS COLD AND RAIN IN JUNE THING) and okay, yes, hills, but this neighborhood's not so bad. But I'd also have a second house somewhere; maybe on a beach in North Carolina or the Oregon coast, someplace where I could go and write, or an apartment in New York City.

3. Have you ever been to Japan? I feel like maybe you have, but this is based on zero factual knowledge.
I have not! I'm just kind of obsessed with it, and I'm obsessed with details. *laugh* I'd like to go someday.

4. What's your favorite House ship, if you have one?
Hard question. I'm a House/Wilson girl from way back but I'm not totally set on that. I like House/13 and Kutner/13 and Cuddy/13 (okay, I'm kind of obsessed with 13, but in my defense, Olivia Wilde is hot and should be brought to my tent immediately after I assume the role of world despot). My dream guilty pleasure 'ship is actually House/Cate Milton (the south pole chick from 'Frozen'). House/Cuddy is interesting. I like unorthodox 'ships because I like to see how people can make them work and still have the characters be in character. I'll believe anything if the writer can make it plausible.

5. How did you become so awesome? Perhaps you were born that way?
Setting aside my usual modesty, I'm actually a case of late-onset awesome. I used to be seriously neurotic and socially anxious and basically a huge mess; I used to avoid human contact pretty much entirely. What you see before you is the result of thirty-one years of evolution and huge doses of anti-anxiety meds. Better living through chemistry. <3

(want some questions? ask me for some)

Follow-up q's!

2. You're making me wish I hadn't left BC. I'd be on the ferry to visit you in a minute!

3. My sister lives in Japan. If she didn't, I'd love to move there! (Except of course for that pesky having to learn a completely new language thing -- been there, done that.) I hear it's very clean. That is very appealing to me. Also, sushi, whenever, wherever one wanted. *nom*

4. So where are these 13/Kutner stories? (Based on the real characters, I mean)

5. Is it possible for your awesomeness to rub off onto others?

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
2. That would be so, so awesome. <3
4. I wrote one a while back called 'hot stuff (http://phinnia.livejournal.com/1652000.html)', which is basically plotless porn in an exam room in about 200 words or so. <3 But I'm working on one now for the rarepair fest because the one I thought about writing for that decided it didn't want to use the prompt. So I should actually have it done in the next few days (the deadline is the 11th. <3)
5. It seems to be. Of course you have a boundless resevoir of your own awesomeness, my dear twin. <3 <3 *huggle*

Japan's awesome. You should go.
Also, I like the sound of your toothbrush, bottom bit missing and everything.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 12:27 am (UTC)(link)
The child has New Toothbrush Radar. Buy a new one and the bottom goes missing within HOURS. It's FREAKY for a kid that can't see a damn thing, I tell you. <3

[identity profile] gokuma.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that the last question was really appropriate :D]

PS. Have you ever read "Diamond Age" by Neal Stephenson? => http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Diamond_Age
It reminds me a bit of your stories about cybergeishas. I think you'd like it... :)

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, I /adore/ Neil Stephenson but he doesn't like my short attention span. *laugh* I should try that one, maybe I'll do better with it than Snow Crash. <3
And thank you! <3

[identity profile] tallin.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 06:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh sure, gimme some questions.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
*evil laugh*
Actually I can't think of anything incriminating, sadly. <3

[identity profile] shutterbug-12.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
House/Cate is a pairing I wish people would play with more. She was a cool chick. I would love to see something spark between them if she ever were to leave the South Pole. Of course, I'd also love to see it crash and burn, because I love House best when he's unhappy. But, as I've said many times before, MULTI-SHIPPING FTW!

And, yeah, besides my husband, I voluntarily associate with, well, nobody in person. I have a hiding spot at work. I avoid social functions, because they make me uncomfortable. Sometimes I don't know what to do about it, because it sometimes makes me feel lonely, but other times I think I prefer it that way.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
I firmly believe multishippers have more fun. At the very least we're far more flexible.
... that was not supposed to sound pervy ...
oh hell, maybe it was. <3

[identity profile] shutterbug-12.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 04:10 am (UTC)(link)
And the House/Cate pairing just won out for my RarePair fic. Gotta love when a plot bunny strikes. Except it would be wonderful if it didn't strike when I was suspended above an audience doing my job, no pen, paper, or computer available.

I have gone through so many pairing possibilities. From House/Stacy to House/Foreman to House/Cate. Jesus, I should just write all of them. =D

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
YES you should. And I am SO EXCITED to read your rarepair fic now. <3

[identity profile] miintikwa.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 08:37 pm (UTC)(link)

5. What's one genre you've never written in and why?

[identity profile] poorfrances.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ask meeee....I'm jumping on the bandwagon.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)

4. If you had to choose between having the ability to walk on water, the ability to fly or the ability to walk up vertical surfaces with no real effort, what would you choose and why?
5. What is your absolute dream job? Anything at all, someone will pay you to do it, but you have to do something, however ridiculous that something is.

[identity profile] adularia.livejournal.com 2008-06-06 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)

It is good to learn more about you.

1. Darting my eyes back and forth very quickly while smiling demonically and ululating. This may not sound like an amazing act, but I when I was a kid I was literally able to hypnotize people by doing that. I have no idea why.
2. Carmina Burana, Miero by Varttina, 9 and O by Damien Rice, Little Plastic Castle by Ani DiFranco, and Rhythm of Life by the Drakensberg Boys Choir. Ah, my insane taste in music.
3. I would be pineapple! Colorful and tasty, but unexpected and unwanted in that scene and thus and ignored by everyone.
4. Telepathy, assuming that this encompasses both mind-reading and moving-objects-with-mind-ing. Because, I don't know, it would just be awesome. Because...it is. Er. Yes.
6. Fresh, flaky, buttery croissants, because they taste like angels! If one eats angels. Mm, delicious.

[identity profile] natalief.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
Telepathy = mind reading. Telekinesis = moving things with your mind. ;-p
