That's San Francisco proper: Cold, windy, expensive. But I still like it. I just wouldn't live there. :)

Geographically, most of California is total Bush-country. We just have more concentrated population in the liberal areas.

See, I think you are made to knit socks. You have awesomely creative ideas and colour-sense and you're always on the go, which makes projects like socks and mittens seem perfect for you.

Oh, I had a pattern that made me think of you. You could do the middle stripe in a rainbow and then do black on the sides for a rainbow mohawk hat. :)
