Nut case or alternative thinker? Danny, on mindfulness. Very cool! (from the most excellent [livejournal.com profile] gokuma.)

Today in a nutshell:
Lost my phone on the bus. receptionist didn't page therapist so PT was 20 minutes short. Bought Sean's school supplies. Am frustrated there's no better alternative to lysol. Came home crying in pain, fell down on sofa, fell asleep. Was wakened by bus. Dealt with child, made his lunch for tomorrow. Am going to die quietly now, still sore.

Gaa! You might want to add that the link to the jealous wives article also goes to a site that has rather NSFW ads and such.

I'm sorry that your day sucked so much :( I hope tomorrow improves.

In the random crap department - I've worked on electron cyclotron resonance systems and waveguides for RF applications. Thanks for the very cool link!

*HUGS* for fired day. Hope you feel better soon. Sending virtual chocolate, snuggles, an infinite supply of new books, and pain removers.

What sort of Lysol alternates are you looking for? Air spray, disinfectant, general cleaning?

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Disinfectant spray (for $200, Alex). <3
(it was on the boy's school supply list. I ended up buying Lysol anyway; I just wish Method or Seventh Generation would make something similar.)

Sounds like a day of major suckitude. I hope today is better.

Distilled white vinegar is an excellent and powerful disinfectant. For info on less harmful cleaning, and MCS in general, I recommend this site (and it's just generally awesome anyway):

http://www.dld123.com

Lots of great information. The woman who runs it has been studying MCS for a long time.

My dad makes a spray with ammonia and vinegar(yes, it stinks but in a general diaper way and not that odd Phlalates R Us way.)and a bit of dish soap that works WONDERS. It's sorta like windex only I'm pretty sure it'd be a germicide too.

I hate Lysol. It never seems to get things CLEAN...just slimy and smeared around and supposedly germ free.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-09-05 04:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I hate it too. *shudder* It's for the kidlet's school supply list - I was hoping that Seventh Generation or Method would have something instead of Lysol, but no go. I never use the stuff at home, it's horrifying. (no idea why it was on the school supply list, but hey. Not my problem I suppose.)
*pounces Emmi* I wish to kidnap you soon! We have new ice cream maker to break in.

Oh, I use this sort of thing frequently at home - this was for the boy's school supply list. (I have no idea why it was on the boy's school supply list, but I am not the teacher, so.) I was hoping for one of the more readily available more natural alternative lines to come up with something, but they haven't.)
Thanks for the link though; it looks awesome. *squirrels it away*
