today is (possibly maybe i think but i'm not betting on it) the day.
I have heard from the wheelchair delivery man. His name is Tennessee; I believe that (or a nearby state) is where he is from. He has the thickest southern accent I have ever heard in Seattle.
He says he will be delivering the wheelchair between 1 and 3 PM today.
I'm hoping.
Today would have been my father's 82nd birthday. I miss him every day. I have some of his things.
Notable:
his walking stick, which he acquired during his bachelor years after spraining his ankle doing something that I have no doubt he shouldn't have been doing
two of his hats (he always wore a hat)
an exceedingly large hammer which I love and which has spoiled me for all lighter hammers
a #2 robertson screwdriver (square tip: not found in the US for some odd reason)
a key rack which he made at work
two earring holders made out of aircraft grade aluminum
Here's to dad. I'm not sure he ever really understood me, but he loved me a lot regardless.
No clickies so far today. Sorry about that. I'm stuck somewhere between cautiously optimistic, nostalgic and vaguely sad.

I'm crossing my legs, too, but that's because I have to pee. :-)

My Dad is 69 and still living, but I have nothing of his but DNA and a few photos.

I feel sad too, and I don't know why either.

My Dad makes stuff like that, too. And he has 534582309482 screwdrivers, 49304803924 paintbrushes, 5098509 hammers of different weights & grades. My mum is thankful they are all in a workshop rather than the house :)
