things accomplished

clickies brought to you by [livejournal.com profile] awils1 and [livejournal.com profile] bernie_laraemie. <3

horse is allergic to grass.

dog dies saving children from pit bulls. this is SO SAD.

contact lenses save cat's sight.

yoda, the cat with four ears.

penguin has emergency surgery to remove egg.

nine year old's survey project on gender identification excluded because "some people didn't like" his conclusion that some people didn't want to be called either male or female and that these people need an 'other' option. i don't have words for how much this disgusts me.

tonight is a school night and i'm so freaking excited. also tomorrow i have my first therapist appointment.

tried taking half an ambien last night because taking a whole one leaves me so tired i'm napping uncontrollably all day. it seems to be better. couldn't sleep well last night because of the hip and leg pain that i only seem to get in bed (not sure what to do there. percocet doesn't help much; it helps when i move but then it comes back again. wtf.)

hoping to do some more writing today, and assemble my new kitchen stool, and maybe cook or bake something now that i can actually get to everything and know what and where everything is.

how are you?

re: pain in bed: you may need a new mattress?

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/world/2009/04/02/lah.japan.world.austism.day.cnn this is totally awesome, a winery staffed by autistic and developmentally delayed adults. but what is really most cool about it to me is the attitude of the (American) man who now runs the place.

I was thinking the same thing re: mattress. (Catching up after being AFK all weekend.) How old is the current bed? I've heard they should be replaced every 5-10 years, or something along those lines.

One of the cats back home is allergic to fish. =) We thought this was incredibly bizarre.

Sounds like it'll be a good day! Here's hoping! Good luck with it all. <3

I'm, uh...still waking up. =\ No big plans for today, though.

WHY did I read that dog story :[

I love when people on my flist feel motivated to do things, because then it rubs off on me. I think that I'm going to go bake some cookies <3

It's a lovely, sunny PNW day here, and we did some work out in the yard, in preparation for a small vegatable garden.:)

Rachel enjoyed an hour long nap just before lunch, and didn't have a seizure! We couldn't be more thrilled.:)

I can't take a whole Ambien, either. Knocks me out for two days. I'm also glad it's a school day tomorrow. I get to have lunch with a friend.

*hugs*

Thanks for linkies. Added a couple of new friends through them. :)

Here, life's hectic as ever. Home just now from cub scout weekend campout with younger son, exhausted and sunburned. (D'oh, silly redhead, fossil digging = hours in the sun. Must remember sunscreen in future.)

Tomorrow's surgery has suddenly been rescheduled from 10am to 8am, meaning I must arrive at 7am instead of 9am. Which means leaving the house at 6:15am instead of 8:15am. Which means younger son may have to miss school and be entertained in a waiting room most of the day, since his bus doesn't get here until 8:15am. On the plus side it eliminates the "What if we don't get home before younger son's bus drops him off at 4pm dilemma" so we'll deal with it as it goes.

Two week recovery time may mean lots of LJ reading and posting, or two weeks in a drugged stupor, only time will tell...

rrgh rargh the world is messed up!

definitely agree on the mattress thing. my bed is a lifesaver (literally maybe). it makes such a huge difference. even if your mattress is new, all mattresses are not created equal. i love mine so much because it is a futon mattress - no springs inside, nothing to push on me. it just holds me all nice. <3 (and there are even different futon mattresses, from so-soft-you-fall-in to hard-like-the-floor. SO many choices and the right one makes SO much difference.)

mwah.
