baby pythons escape during flight. cue the samuel l. jackson quotes now.

the news story i linked to yesterday about susan boyle on britain's got talent? here she is singing 'i dreamed a dream'. SO FUCKING ASTOUNDING. she owns the stage, she owns the song. i was crying at the end. this is an absolute must-watch. she is one of the most inspiring people i've ever seen.

today: possibly more playing with art supplies. it really unfroze my brain yesterday, which was great. [livejournal.com profile] arjache and [livejournal.com profile] euclase have been really encouraging <3 (whether they realize it or not.) off to the post office, store and the library too; need to pick up a few things, drop off a few more things and switch a perscription over.

I'm going to wear my che guavara socks that [livejournal.com profile] recrudescence sent from korea. <3

how are you? i hope your day is fabulous <3

she owns the stage, she owns the song.

I saw her youtube performance a few days ago--Monday, I think. I poked around several articles about her and seems by that point, she was already in beginning negotiations with Simon Cowell's recording label/studio.

I was a little sorry that they had to fumigate the plane because they couldn't find the snakes -- I thought they actually sounded kind of cute.

And YAY for unfreezing brain! ♥

That physics link should not be read when sleep deprived. That's all I have to say about that.

That Susan Boyle vid still makes me cry just thinking about it, and I've seen it tons of times already, and watched her on the Early Show today. So fucking awesome. Really. Awesome. I can't get over it. (Although, I swear, I will never, ever escape Les Mis now for as long as I live.)

*tears up* oh my. i love that song anyway, and her voice? is phenomenal. what the judge lady said about how everyone was laughing and got a huge wakeup call: so totally right. the crowd's response was brilliant. and watching simon cowell's face got from snark to awe was bloody fantastic.

but the best part was her. and her reaction. i am so happy for her! she so deserves it and is so clearly excited and awwww. *sniffle.*

I enjoyed stumbling across this link too. I think I'd be laughing all the way through it, too! :)

I totally read "string theory" as "thingy story" at first glance.

[identity profile] euclase.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 12:17 am (UTC)(link)
Hahaha, so did I!

[identity profile] gimp-mom.livejournal.com 2009-04-16 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I was just about in tears watching Susan Boyle, too. I really loved the change that took place in the judges and the audience.lol

Simon's response was priceless.:D

! SNAKES ON A PLANE !
that pretty much is a dream come true for me. I love the movie. A lot.

Also, your watercolor dabblings are inspiring me to go dust off mine, which is good, because I haven't done any real drawing since I started this electronics stuff in earnest. Yum. I have ideas.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
<3<3<3 i haven't seen it yet. i think it's the kind of movie that's best viewed in groups.

[identity profile] frankincensy.livejournal.com 2009-04-16 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, Susan Boyle is completely awesome.

[identity profile] m0usegrrl.livejournal.com 2009-04-16 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That Susan Boyle vid is amazing. My favourite part was Cowell nearly falling out of his chair when she started singing. ^_^

I don't know if you've seen this yet, but OMG CUTE:
How to make Totoro cream puffs <333

Pain day, had pre-op stuff done out at the base hospital, ready for lunch now. Thinking more and more about shifting career gears Yet Again and finally going into the medical field -- don't know doing what yet, but it'll come to me. ^_^

i thought (and am still thinking) about phlebotomy: it's got growth potential (you can work up into lab work) and it's super cheap to get into - there's a five-saturdays course here that gets you certified for $300 or less and everyone i've heard has said it's a fun job - you meet a lot of interesting people.
That link is adorable! and are you having surgery? *WORRIES*

[identity profile] m0usegrrl.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 02:15 am (UTC)(link)
Phlebotomy is definitely on the list, as is radiology or even (thinking big here) LPN. ^_^ If things really go south once the state decides on a budget and Gov. Chowderhead decides to lay people off, I'll look into getting voc rehab training through the VA.

I'm not so much having surgery as a procedure where they're going to put me under general anaesthesia (oooh, there's another option, gas passer! XDD). Latest post has all the info...

[identity profile] euclase.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't realize it! (I never realize it). But yay, that's wonderful and terrific! <3333

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
i don't think i said much about it at least not for a while. but you're so encouraging, you keep saying that all it takes is practice and more practice, and it's been fun trying - nothing spectacular yet by any means but it's fun to play and it's soothing if i don't try too hard to be perfect (which is ... difficult sometimes, but i'm still trying) <3<3<3

Susan Boyle is amazing. I watched the programme live, and already knew (my newspaper had reported it) that she would be able to sing well, but the difference between what I expected and what came out of her mouth was jaw-dropping (literally!) I will be jolly surprised if she doesn't win the competition.

I now know more about string theory than I did before (a little bit as opposed to nothing :D )

[identity profile] arjache.livejournal.com 2009-04-17 10:04 am (UTC)(link)
Yay art! That's really awesome. And I do find that once you get into the groove of an art piece, it can be really calming and mind-clearing and energizing.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2009-04-18 07:00 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm really enjoying it so far.
(i meant to ask - what graphics program do you use? i looked at photoshop prices and passed out a bit.)

New article about Susan Boyle: she sang on a limited-edition CD featuring local artists to celebrate the Millennium - the news item has a brief clip of her singing "Cry Me A River". Just.... WOW.
