No.

I just saw a preview for the Law and Order Season Finale.
No.
They can't get rid of Briscoe.
No.
This is not allowed.

Edit: *peeks at the new Law and Order spinoff cast* Oh, fucking awesome. Never mind. I don't have to go on a hunger strike.

They are, alas -- the only thing that's keeping me from going apeshit is the fact that he's not leaving the franchise, just the show.

It's my understanding that they're going to spin him off into a fourth show, I forget what it'll be about, but he's getting a promotion of some sort, and he'll be ont hat end of it.

They are, yeah. It's called 'Trial by Jury'.

I think they should give Briscoe and Munch their own spinoff and call it Law and Order: Cranky Old Cops.

That is a fabulous idea. I'd watch it. :-D Guest appearances by Cragen, of course.

I saw the ad that showed Briscoe leaving and screamed at my TV. Who else is going to be on the spinoff? IMdB only lists Jerry Orbach. I wish they could bring back Jill Hennessy's character, but she died. Angie Harmon was really cool, too.

I think it is actually Detective Briscoe. He's supposedly transferred to the Special Prosecutor's Investigative Unit. Try seaching for 'Trial by Jury'.
