YAAAAAAAAAAY!

*happy happy happy dances*

The Early Headstart people just called us back. We're meeting with them on the third of June.

Get this. Because The Kid has pretty much no useable vision, he gets the first (aside from other disabled kids on their waiting list ahead of him) available spot - because that kind of thing is what the program was /designed/ to deal with. So no more problems with daycare come September - no shuttling between daycares that can't deal with his needs. (Yeah, did I mention that Kindercare called us back? Well actually they didn't /call/ us, they talked to our vision therapist and we talked to her. They don't think they can meet his needs, what with the extra transitions they'd need to do and the 8:1 ratio and their strict program (it's like Kiddie Boot Camp, I guess.) Yeah, I'm pissed about that. But this is hella better anyway.)
And they might even bus him there and home, too. I don't know why I'm thinking they do.

This is the coolest thing. Five days a week program pretty much designed for the kid. Rock on.

Excellent! I'm glad you were able to find something that will suit him so well. :)

Yippee! ::snoopydance::

Oh, and the Kiddo got bus service as soon as he qualified for an IEP. Those little short buses with carseats. That was Early Childhood, not Early Head Start, but I think Head Starts offer busing here as well. Definitely ask.

Sean's been in one of those parent-child programs with his IFSP so far (so obviously they don't bus him, we have to be there), but I do know that the program he'd be in on the next step up would provide busing for him - from our place or to a childcare provider.
I hope they do provide it to Headstart. I imagine it's probably a nationwide thing. *crosses toes*
