Wow.

Total cost for five days a week from Head Start, including busing, from 8:30 to 4:00:

Three hundred a month.

Holy shit, people. That's a song. I think it's because he's in EI - they may cover some ... but still.

Wait... you're being told you have to pay for Head Start?

I think it's a sliding scale thing; because Chris is working contracts and such our income is too high for the fully funded version.

Interesting, and cool. Which HS program is it? I hadn't heard that any were letting over income kids in on a pay schedule.

I'm not sure what program it is - I think it may just be the regular one; but I'm pretty sure it has to do with him being in EI ... I guess they give preference to kids with special needs, which in our case is good.

Is that a good song or a bad song? I don't think $2/hour is bad especially if they include transportation costs. Of course, I know our budget would have to take some serious cuts to afford that.

I think it's a good song, considering I know folk that have to pay more than their rent for daycarefoo.

Oh, yeah, definitely good.
To reference: KinderCare wanted 362 per /week/ for full time.

That's a good thing - given that the going rate for center based daycare around here is that much per week.
*hugs you to death, was worried sick about you*
