This started out as a normal entry and then veered toward 'rant'.
Today's DorkTower is ADORABLE. And quasi-evil. But adorable.
The only thing worse than being the tech support generation is knowing damn well that you CAN fix your parents' computer, offering to do so at no cost to them, and being told that 'oh no, it's fine' ... meanwhile your mother is saving everything on FLOPPIES even though she has an EIGHTY GIG HARD DRIVE and your mother in law thinks that everything can be solved by DEFRAGGING the DRIVE and refuses to listen to her daughter in law the geek and her son the PROGRAMMER instead choosing to listen to her husband the EX CONVICT WHO TYPES WITH TWO FINGERS and wouldn't know an IP address if it BIT HIM ON THE BUTT.
Not that I'm bitter at all about being totally ignored except when it's convenient for them to listen, which doesn't always coincide with the times I actually know what I'm talking about ...
Really.
Well, no. I am. Terribly. But I try not to think about it much.
Went to bed early last night and took two valerian to combat the problem of lousy unrefreshing sleep. Woke up early enough to catch the puzzle on NPR's Morning Edition, and now I have coffee and a much happier kiddo. And rain. Lots of rain. Soon there will be breakfast and more coffee, and I will continue with the NaNovel, which had a pathetic 440 words added to it yesterday.
