W00T.
I wonder if this works as advertised ...? *hopes*
Edit: DUDE. It works like a CHARM. *snoopydance* Now I don't have to transfer my MP3s to my PC first. (It advertises itself as working in Panther, but it's working in Tiger just fine.) And now? I can use the MP3 player I already HAVE, with a much lighter computer. *eeee*
Edit 2: Why don't I get an iPod? Several reasons:
(1) I'm quite satisfied with the Zen box, and it still works fine.
(2) As far as I know (this is borne up by Apple tech support, I think) you can get a Mac-formatted iPod OR a Windows-formatted iPod, not both. We're looking at getting a windows-based media server in the fairly near future, to use as a TiVo replacement, and I want to be able to hook it up to that, too. And I still use my PC occasionally.
(3) Well, there was that thing with the battery class action suit ... which I know is being settled, but it bugs me that the limited battery life wasn't disclosed. I don't like Apple's marketing regarding iTunes and the iPod - I suppose it makes sense, given that it's their most popular product in ages and also the only one where they hold a significant market share, and the iTunes music store has to kowtow to the music industry, which has a history of being stupid. It's better than Napster, which is now just one enormous long rental agreement you keep paying for, but I still don't care for it. I'd rather use the product I have, which works well and thus doesn't need replacing.

I've always been a big proponent of "if it works for you, don't make excuses."

I tend to make excuses for everything, including my own existence. :-D
