rabbit rabbit chicken
Watership Down took issue with the saying 'it never rains but it pours' and so do I.
So yes, one cloud feels lonely. But sometimes that's good, if the clouds come bringing money.
Also in today's mailbox:
nellwyn's Christmas card. *hugs* The rest of mine are going out tomorrow ... and I get my computer back! It is a day for rejoicing and possibly playing World of Warcraft.
Today's random thought: how come mock chicken lunch meat (not the soy stuff, the other stuff) looks absolutely nothing like chicken - nor does it taste like chicken? In fact, it tastes like no animal ever, which is proof that funny exotic things don't taste like chicken by default. (Not that mock chicken is exotic).
My father used to buy that stuff all the time, suffering under the delusion that I liked it. (He was confusing me with my mother, I think, which is something that happened not very often.) I think it's just baloney in disguise. And not even a good disguise.
Edit: Apparently mock chicken lunch meat is one of the weirder Canadian things?
This is the kind of thing that still, after nearly six years here, gives me culture shock. Bad culture shock. I've been living in a country for six years that doesn't have mock chicken? I suppose you don't have that horrible macaroni-and-cheese-loaf lunch meat either? I hope not, I hated that stuff more than mock chicken.
I'm going to go lie down and feel decidedly foreign for a while.
