I dragged tallin in to Kingdom of Loathing.

Gods, a computer game that the two of us can play - that isn't a text-based-MUD* - that doesn't SUCK. I think the world is ENDING NOW.

* There's nothing wrong with text-based-MUDs of course - but one has to admit that's usually the only option.

www.elephant.org is where I spent the best part of the last 5-6 years as a player, then as a wiz. Having reverted back to being a player, I've weaned myself from it slowly, and become rather obsessed with KoL.

I've always wondered what a stuffed grue would look like - I think there'd be an awesome market for geeks there. I picture some kind of black amorphous nothing with teeth.

I've just ascended for the first time, and gone Hardcore with the oxy path meaning I can't eat or drink. I'm limited to my 40 adventures a day til I manage to *find* any items to give me more adventures, so it's proving to be fun. Bearing in mind, when Yarr initially played (as a disco bandit, which he still is) I made my 2.3mil meat by wheeling and dealing on the /trade channel, flea market and my shop - I bought just about everything I needed and now the mere fact I have to find things for *myself* (!!!) is rather distressing - but in the best possible way :D
