the rain in seattle goes mainly in the drain

I have joyfully located the transit center without getting horribly lost! [livejournal.com profile] tallin neglected to tell me it was on SOUTH Jackson, which exists, rather than Regular Jackson, which does not, at least not at 2nd Avenue. I have found a Wells-Fargo. (Note to self: Second and Marion.) Our apartment is about ten minutes walk from Seattle Pacific University, about half an hour from downtown or thereabouts on the bus, and a shortish bus ride from the U-District (which I assume means UW).

The new apartment is BEYOUTIFUL and very peachy on the outside and has cherry trees. It's a four building complex with hot tub and seasonal outdoor pool and in-unit laundry and a tiny balcony (or a balconetti, as [livejournal.com profile] tallin called it) and funny looking coat closet and a walk-in closet that's larger than a bedroom I had once, or at least as big. It has a beautiful view over the harbor, and I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] tallin is also very impressed with the view. :-D

Regrettably: the carpets are all white. Note to self: purchase steam cleaner. We didn't even bother with any other showings. My only regret is that our dining room table is too big, but that means I can haunt Craigslist and Ikea for cafe tables! Happy is me. Although I did wipe out and strain my ankle getting on a bus, tripping over the remnants of a bus stop sign. (really. the rest of the sign was leaning on a nearby telephone pole, I tripped over the stub of the sign. Argh.)

Yes, I am really that chatty and random and hyper now. I am. I also re-found the Crumpet Shop (which is near Pike Place Market) and had turkish food for lunch.

[livejournal.com profile] tallin is off signing his life away in Bellevue. I'm going to see if I can find my way to [livejournal.com profile] doubletake's house now, because I'm sick and tired of Michael Jackson. :-)

How big is it? We don't have room for a huge table, but something pretty small would be great...

It's a round three feet in diameter, three feet tall, wood, it has two smallish leaves on the side that I keep down except when people are eating with us, it has no sharp corners so it really wants to live in a family with small children. According to google images it has a pedestal base. It's light enough for me to pick up without cursing so I'm guessing it's not cheap ikea particleboard. At worst it's high-quality MDF, at best it's oak. My sweetie wants me to put it out on the sidewalk with a free sign on it because we really have no room for it... "No!" I said. "Why not?" "Because!"

That would be pretty much ideal. Only problem is that we don't have a car; is it possible you could drop it off here (I can spot you gas money; I've seen how much it is per gallon these days.)

[identity profile] shellynoir.livejournal.com 2006-06-11 07:25 am (UTC)(link)
I can drop it off Sunday afternoon or Tuesday - Any evening.
No worries on gas money my car doesn't use much.

If I give you my email and cell, can you delete this post as soon as you've read it?

Tuesday would be better for us. Email me your cell# and such at phinnia(at)comcast.net - then we don't need to worry about deleting anything. :-D
