the good, the bad, the odd

Good
Found boarding for the cats (woo! and free, too - a friend of ours is watching them).
Seaners' new word approximation: 'love you'
Hopefully I can get free train tickets to Seattle for The Seed and Myself (yay Amtrak Guest Rewards Points)
Packed most of the dishes, and most of the bathroom.
Meeting with EmmiEmmiEmmi on the far side, whee!

Bad
Still more packing needed.
Leaving on an 8:45 a.m. train with a four year old that detests mornings in order for one of us to get to Seattle before the movers do.
My blog is filled with boring posts whining about moving. I promise this will stop soon. I swear. It had better, because I'm boring myself.
Not to mention we still need to do the damned taxes. Someday we will actually do the damn things before the deadline. Not this year though. At least no one's died this year, I suppose, unlike 2002. Maybe filing for an extension would be better. How much of a pain in the tuckus is filing taxes from out of state? (We do not do our own taxes; the 1099s are too confusing. We go to tax peoples and pay them for the hassle.)

Odd
Metroblogging Azeroth.

Taxes: no biggie. Filing taxes from out of state is just like filing taxes here, only from a different mailbox. If you do them yourself, the biggest hassle is finding forms. and they've got most of them online now. But it's especially not a problem since you have somebody else do them. Filing an extension isn't hard (and it sounds like you've done it before anyway.)

NEXT year will be the interesting year, since you'll be in Washington but have the first few months of Oregon income tax to pay. But it won't be difficult, just that you'll need to remember to file in Oregon.

Oooh, I didn't realize (for whatever reason) that they were online! Thank you so much. There's one huge weight off my chest, anyway.

*patpats* Your blog posts are definitely not boring. I think your move to the Emerald City is fantastic.
