rearranged unpackable boxes of tchotchkes that are waiting for shelves; put them on child's closet shelf for time being (maybe eventually the time being will stop giving me orders, or at least drop by to pick up his crap, you think?)
unpacked large annoying living room box of miscellaneous crap and found at least temporary homes for everything in it (more difficult than you'd think).
moved boxes of child's stuffed animals into child's room where they damn well belong anyway
took down trash and recycling
cleared out space behind breakfast bar, the better to actually use the new bar chairs, my dear
walked to grocery store, picked up remaining provisions
cleaned kitchen
vacuumed living room floor
cleaned DVD player (twice) and watched disk 5 of chobits (not really difficult, but a nice break)
read discussion boards for online class; posted response to instructor's weekly question
baked lemon bread (also made dinner)
cleaned child's bathroom, mostly
interviewed babysitter candidate
cleared off breakfast bar (the better to use the barstools, my dear)
