phinnia: smiling dolphin face (marilyn/script)
phinnia ([personal profile] phinnia) wrote2008-01-01 01:29 pm

this is just fanfic waiting to be written (plus stupid weight stuff.)

What the hell is that? A probably-not-worksafe story regarding a male chastity device and some very confused hospital cleaning technicians.

I love this. Once again proves that truth is far, far stranger than fiction.

And more sad annoying weight loss stuff: If your pants are above a size fourteen, you'd better hope they're fire retardant. Woman accused of cheating on her diet with cough drops. Ummmmmno. (I could go on a rant here about how diets don't work, but we've been there before, and I don't want to miss Law and Order.)

(Seaners just came out of the bedroom with a blanket over his head, stimming. So cute. <3)

(second: I want to join [livejournal.com profile] mogulsquee, but it looks like you need a secondary and tertiary fandom, and I don't watch enough anything to have one. Ah well, you should join instead.)

Edit: Well, I could probably write Law and Order fic ... oh hell, why NOT. I'll try. <3

Thank you for the link to the essay about medical devices!

You're very welcome! :-) Your followup post cracked me up. :-D

Look what that post inspired!

That is /awesome./

I've only ever written one fic in my life, but that comm makes me want to write more. It's a scary idea, though, having to make a commitment to be able to write something. In my head, I'm both running towards it as well as running away. ;)

Yeah, me too, actually. :-) I can write House fanfiction with a reasonable degree of confidence at this point, but anything else still makes me worry way too much. :P

The only one I've ever actually written was a slightly-long drabble about Torchwood, done for a friend of mine who was trying to get me over my fear. There are several shows I know Pretty Damn Well, so could prolly write stuff within them, but I'm still skirred for some reason. I wish I knew why, because then I could work on fixing it.

It might be that writing feels so much more personal than any other art I do...

Part of it with me is that I'm spooked about getting Stuff Wrong.

Couldn't you have somebody cool who also knows the fandom beta it for you? It would be like a safety net.

[identity profile] phinnia.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
I have this weird paranoia that my writing just generally sucks and eventually I'm going to find out about it. *laugh* Which, from most indications in that direction, is ridiculous, but there you are.
(Which is not to say your idea is bad - not at all - I'm just paranoid. But I should, you're right - it would help.) :-)

[identity profile] mydwynter.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can understand where you're coming from. Paranoia isn't really rational. Unless they really are out to get yo--yeah, that joke wasn't funny the first time. Right.

Anyway, if you want to try stuff out, I like to think I'm a safe beta. But maybe you'd want to judge my writing first so won't feel so much like you're jumping into a black hole. But that would mean I'd have to write something. And then... and then....

Hmm.

*chuckle* At least it'll be a good thing for both of us? :-)

[identity profile] mydwynter.livejournal.com 2008-01-03 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Permaybehaps, there.
