phinnia: smiling dolphin face (oscillon)
Lots of thoughts and very little words to play them out today. I'm chewing on a nice fat piece of story idea for [livejournal.com profile] reannon's July Writing Extravaganza, which is still waiting entitlement. Not quite sure where I'll begin just yet, but hey, I've got a whole day and a half to figure that out. Chewing on the last parts of the Jack and Allanna saga, which is nearing its inevitable conclusion; I'm about two or three major plotpoints away from the finale of that.
(The end has been in my head for ages. It's the few bits between now and the end that are eluding me.)
Also in the pipeline: [livejournal.com profile] non_plot for this week (Murphy's Law). That one's still in the air. It'll work out. They all do.

Point the first. Tillamook's Marionberry Pie ice cream is excellent. Vanilla with marionberry swirl and pieces of good pie crust ... mmmmmmmmmmm. Definitely get some.

Point the second. I now have The Big Idea for [livejournal.com profile] reannon's July Writing Extravanganza (which I will continue to call it until a name is finally settled on) and now I merely wait until Thursday to begin. *fidget* *fidget*

The biggest problem I have with NaNoWriMo is that it's in November. Which is starting to be prime SAD season for me. It might work out better this year, it might not, with Seaners in HeadStart and all. But July? Bring it on, man. Lots of sun and warm weather make me chipper and hyper and ... well, kind of irritating, to tell the truth. But that's not the point! The point is that I have a shot at finishing this in July that I'm not sure I'd have in November.

Point the third. As if one great plot bunny wasn't enough, I now have a clue as to the rest of the Jack/Allanna thing will pan out. I need only get one more major plot point worked out and then I can finish the thing.

Right now? I'm on top of the world. Oh yeah.

It was cold. Cold and windy and damp; a shiver dragged Sarah toward consciousness, and a headache kept her there. She sat up and gingerly held her head between two hands, groping on the springy grass for a moment before finding her silver-rimmed glasses.

They didn't really help, but at least her face didn't feel as naked as the rest of her did. The world was just plain swirly, no matter how you looked at it. Masses of gold-green and grey slowly formed into an empty sky, a half-mown hayfield. A large ominous shape turned out to be a ramshackle barn.

Where the hell was she? She got up on her knees, wrapping her arms around her bare breasts in a futile attempt to warm herself.
She was ... )
