phinnia: smiling dolphin face (double helix)
Yeah, it's that time again.
I usually get about two or three really really lousy colds every winter. Sinus cold with muscle aches, watery eyes, trouble breathing, five hours of broken lousy sleep? Check. Invasion scheduled for tomorrow? Check. Fortunately it's not too too bad in here cleanwise - and the rest of it they'll just have to deal with, because [livejournal.com profile] tallin has errands to run this afternoon, including meeting with his work about more hours. *hopes*
So yeah, I won't be in any kind of mental function to do anything for the next day or two. I could be wrong, but no guarantees.

[livejournal.com profile] branwynelf will appreciate these mosaics of Hitchcock movies, and so will anyone else who likes Hitchcock movies.
You know, when you're vaguely cold-stoned, this light up toilet seat is even creepier?
Neil Gaiman's blog ([livejournal.com profile] officialgaiman) lists ten things not to send your favorite author (or their assistant.)

Whee.

Read this article on Bush instead. I'm not in any position to think. But it's worth it, even though it's long and more than a little scary, there are some interesting insights.
I'd love a nap, but Chris isn't home yet. Maybe later.
Ever notice how the cat always loves you more with an electric blanket?

1. The service coordinator (think of her as the head mongol in charge of the invasion - our own personal mighty Khan) called to clear up a few things for the assessments they've been doing the past few times Sean's been in group. Apparently in early November he'll be transitioning to the slightly-longer group (I think it's more like 3 or close to 4 hours) which meets 3 times a week - Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. This is nice, because they still bus him and it cuts down the amount we'll have to pay for child care when school starts - they can bus him to any center or daycare within the Portland school district. He's apparently doing well. This I am happy about. Whatsername-I-think-Christina says she's happy to have him in the class. *beams*
2. Chris had a good meeting with his job, and hopefully money should start picking up a little more.
3. Until then, he's apparently been called back on a temp placement working at a local ISP, and will find something out about that next week. That and contracts and the money he just billed the company he's working for means that while we're not totally flush, we're at least getting by.
4. We should be seeing [livejournal.com profile] doubletake and David this weekend. Apparently they have a Mysterious Birthday Gift for Sean that they won't tell us about which is making me horrifyingly curious. Going to Peanut Butter Ellies and probably the childrens' museum assuming all goes well and there are no meltdowns during breakfast. I cannot tell you how nice it is to have a kid-friendly restaurant that is not The Great Tits of America. (Not mine. Blame Stephen King.) Actually there are apparently a few such places in town; Old Wives' Tales is supposed to be quite good too.

So yeah, I feel crummy, but life's not hugely bad. I will now drink my Odwalla and take some more Advil cold and sinus, which [livejournal.com profile] kay_willow will be glad to know is at least 50% ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is love. At least it is the way I feel right now.

Look out! There are LLAMAS! (stolen from a buncha people.)
Wacky little BBC writing contest. (from [livejournal.com profile] natalief.)
