1. Total number of books I own: Five hundred? I think. Three large bookshelves-full, plus. A LOT. I gave up counting long ago. And I'm very bad at estimates.
2. Last book I bought: Hm. Well, I just bought 'Queen of All The Dustballs', which is a book of weird poetry by a Canadian poet from BC by the name of (I believe) Doug Richardson. It's fantastic and it's taken me years to find it. But that's not here yet. So the other last book I bought that's actually IN my possession was probably 'Writing Down the Bones', which is just weird. Interesting, but weird.
3. Last book I read: Read and completed? Fruits Basket volume 4. Read partway through? Any one of the following: "Polaroids from the Dead" (Douglas Coupland), "Perfectly Reasonable Deviations from the Beaten Path" (Richard and Michelle Feynman), "On a Pale Horse" (Piers Anthony), "A Short History of Nearly Everything" (Bill Bryson). I'm a very chinese-buffet-style reader. Yes, I can keep track of them in my head. Really.
4. Five books that mean a lot to me:
Hmmmm.
Life after God (Douglas Coupland)
The Mommy Myth (I forget the authors)
Neuromancer (William Gibson)
The God of Small Things (Andruhati Roy)
The Diviners (Margaret Laurence)
(All but one of those are CanLit. Interesting. One I read in high school, too. I'm going back to my roots these days, I guess.)
5. Tag 5 people and ask them to fill this out in their LJs:
tallin (this should be interesting.)
branwynelf
kay_willow even though she never does memes
lauramcewan
badgoodgirl
The child has been screaming off and on all night for no real reason. Nerve? What nerve?
