Twenty years ago: I was eight. I think. Yeah. I have very few memories of this point in time except that there were many legos and much mistreatment of barbies.
Ten years ago: eighteen. The summer before my first year at university: newly minted film major. Dating the evil ex, but things hadn't turned evil yet.
Five years ago: twenty-three. Dumped the evil ex; living in Buffalo with Chris. Psych major, and vaguely happy with it, or good at it at least. Not writing - in the middle of a huge block, which was frustrating and sad.
One year ago: twenty-seven. Trying to figure out the logistics of going back to school and deal with a Boy. Much contract work. Oddly enough not too different than now, and oddly enough very transitional. I think I was trying to figure out what to wear for
doubletake's wedding, too.
One month ago: June. I think that was the beginning of this cold. Still getting over the spring semester. It rained a lot. We despaired of summer's beginnings.
One week ago: Chris had an ear infection; I had recently regained my voice. The demon seed got up far too early. I remember watching 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' (I still need to take that back.)
Yesterday: We got one of those nifty satellite radios and found out they're as good as they say they are - the music channels are totally awesome. My copy of Harry Potter #6 shipped, but I won't get it today because I ordered it from Powells. I'm not really that concerned about this. I remember thinking I wonder how many extra UPS guys have to work today. I did some writing. I started 'Walking in this World' by Julia Cameron, which is (I think) a little easier than 'The Artist's Way' for some reason. I bought tea - green tea with plum and berries. It was insanely hot. I discovered that I really really like Neutral Milk Hotel. Also: spinach salads are really good with soy bacon and slightly warmed Annie's Goddess Dressing.
Today: It's cooled off significantly. I'm not sure what we're doing yet; Chris might be going out, we might be going to Saturday Market, or maybe not. I should probably make zucchini bread and use up the pattypan squash in the fridge. Maybe watch a movie. I think '32 Short Films About Glenn Gould' is lurking somewhere.
Tomorrow: Chris is leaving for Seattle again in the evening. Another week of contract work ahoy.
