stupid human tricks

I love Canada; I really do. But some of the laws are just pure stupid. Take the recent decision to oppose private copying of CDs. So if I bought a CD and copied it to my MP3 player, that would be illegal.

Seriously, WTF?

Also in WTF news today is the Bill Frist/stem cell research thing. How much you figure that he's got a relative with MS or Alzheimer's or something that could possibly be helped with stem cells?

Personal news:

My father-in-law and his sister (aunt-in-law? God, I don't know) are arriving at five. That's nine hours from now. *dies* Last night I made biscotti (chocolate cherry) and we're going out to dinner. It's actually mostly clean in here, I can't believe it.

Random plotbunny nabbed back of my brain this morning and wouldn't let go. Argh.

I poked around in my 'teach yourself japanese' book and despair of understanding it. I pray this doesn't bode horribly for the fall quarter.

Trader Joes' meyer lemon cake + half a pint of fresh blueberries == yummy and good.

Except it didn't come out of the pan cleanly, even though I greased the hell out of it. Why does that happen? The bottom always sticks in my cakes.
