twenty random facts about the journallist
Sep. 11th, 2005 04:48 pmBecause it's going around again, and I like this one.
1. I am weird about the prononciation of the word 'scone'. It should have along (edit: I always mix those up) short 'o', like 'frog'. I correct people. It's kind of anal-retentive, but I can't help it.
2. If a chocolate bar is molded into squares (like Caramilk or Hershey's bars) I have to break it apart into said squares before eating it.
3. I'm technically adopted. It's a long confusing story.
4. I sleep in a very cold room with the blankets up to my nose and over my ears.
5. My energy low point of the day is mid-afternoon, between the hours of 2 and 4.
6. I'm paranoid about being wrong. It's something I'm working on.
7. I'm also much less outgoing in person.
8. At the moment I have three favorite bands: Radiohead, the Decemberists, and Death Cab for Cutie. If everything goes well I should be going to see the latter two in concert in November. Radiohead is coming out with a new album next year, and I swear I would sell my soul for Radiohead tickets.
9. The main thing that annoys me in life is informational overload. Hearing about the same thing again and again strikes me with a case of unshakable apathy. This is probably why I have not, nor will I, ever watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and why celtic and folk music only get listened to in moderation. Some things are not subject to this rule, and I have no idea why that is.
10. I'm probably addicted to caffeine at this point.
11. I don't talk to my family - I haven't spoken to them in nearly two years. I got sick of their apathetic attitude toward contacting me - having to call them every time, not hearing from them on things like my birthday, you know the drill. It gets old.
12. I like the smells of cut grass and gasoline in fall because it reminds me of my childhood summers.
13. I can't write in books, even textbooks, even in pencil.
14. I have multiple chemical sensitivity, which manifests itself as anxiety/panic attacks/general irritability and serious headaches. The usual triggers are cleaning products, paint, and Bounce sheets.
15. I'm not sure if I'm an athiest or an agnostic. But I'm very bad at faith.
16. In my first life, I lived in ancient Mesopotamia. I have no proof of this, but it's something I've believed for a while.
17. I also believe in psychic phenomena, even despite my skepticism.
18. I am a vegetarian, but I try not to be crazy about it.
19. I would, and do, wear sandals all year, occasionally with socks.
20. I hate the phone. I will only answer the phone if I recognize the number. I never check voicemail, and most of the time forget how to actually get into the voicemail, despite Chris's repeated attempts to make it stick into my brain.
