a bridget jones moment
Nov. 1st, 2005 06:09 pmAchievements of the day:
1. Knit three more inches on scarf. Now have three distinct individual stripes (green/red/blue). Yarn is soft (baby alpaca/silk.) Definitely less dropped stitches. Am v. pleased.
2. Went to gym and played around on cardio machines. Stair machines evil. New rule: stairs that go nowhere are always evil. (Hurt ankle on stair machine and felt woozy. Unfortunately cannot use bikes because of lack of toe clips. V. suck.) Weight machines surprisingly not too bad. Moderate humiliation of losing women's locker room and accidentally walking into varsity weight room offset by meeting guy that runs entire campus rec program, who was very nice and helpful. Am now v. sore, but much less than expected. Pondering bribing inner gym-and-therapy-phobic child self with promise of shiny toy (iPod Nano) if this keeps up over the next few months without death. We shall see. Even remembered water bottle. (Inner child is fond of water bottle, as water bottle contains Dr. Seuss characters.)
3. Got satellite radio to work again.
4. Saw guy with cat on leash while walking home from gym. (Had startled moment, as cat looked very much like Silk.) Cat was perched on guy's shoulder and looked reasonably comfortable there. Chance of our cats ever doing this - approximately nil.
