Yay quiet. The child was not too happy to get up so early (he's in morning preschool this go-around and his bus leaves at 7:50) but he seemed to adjust ... mostly fine. I haven't gotten any panicked phone calls or emails yet, which is definitely shiny.
The market is much nicer if you get there ahead of the tourists. I found my beloved Birds' Custard powder (I can't make my own custard, I cheat. That will be dessert tonight or tomorrow, unless I decide to do this recipe first. I do not believe this recipe is anything more than slightly insane: my father used to eat strawberries with sour cream.)
I want to do a mix-CD-swap kind of similar to the ones that
geekchick sometimes does. I suck at other CD swaps because they often involve some kind of theme that will miraculously make my brain lock up, no matter what the theme is. I'm very bad at themes. Anyway. Anyone want in? I'm trying to keep this small (no more than seven or eight people maximum because I'm going to have to send them all out ... although if you're local, you can pick them up.) If you want to play, let me know in the comments.
( this part is probably only remotely interesting if you're a fan of David Eddings. )
