Conference call tomorrow morning to discuss summer services (mostly speech and mobility, but then, that's most of what he needs anyway) for The Demon Seed. They only blinked a little bit when I suggested conferencing
tallin's cellphone in (and that was entirely because the person in question is Not A Technical Person and didn't know how to make it work without calling the Technical People.) I am pleased. We moved a little late to make summer services guaranteed, but it looks like they found a way to make it work. I totally love our new IEP team.
Things you can find out through Google: Apparently The Boy's elementary school has a special ed program for low instance disabilities within the school that's been nationally recognized. So we get many of the benefits of blindy school (including an on-site speech/OT/physical therapy department) without the social problems/weird social strata inherent in many blindy schools (ie: the partials are often seen as 'better off' than the totals, which can occasionally translate into the partials being given more rights and freedoms - ask
tallin about this, I'm not kidding) and without having to ship him off to Vancouver (WA, not BC) four days a week. YAY. AND they have a dragon as a school mascot. (That last bit is only relevant because I like dragons.)
This weekend we're going to the NW Folklife Festival. They have food and musical instruments! And food.
Maybe it's time for lunch. Yes, I think so.
