a miracle happened!
Jul. 28th, 2006 07:57 amI found a garantour! Yes, Virginia, you CAN go home again. And my garantour is even a Canadian citizen, so the bastards in Thunder Bay have nothing to complain about!
... hopefully.
If this works, I'll be able to get a birth certificate! And a passport! And my replacement Social Security card! God, I'll be able to visit my birthmother when she goes to Chilliwack, and Chris's aunt in Victoria! And still get back in the country!
And this time I am keeping this stupid thing in a fireproof box preferably stored at a neutral location so I never have to go through this crap again. Because Jesus H. Bubbynerrs, this is far too much hassle for one lifetime. It's easier to get a replacement green card (which is NOT my birthright in any way) than to get my own country of birth to send me something acknowledging that I am, in fact, a citizen.
And that's just sad. Reminds me of how I shocked an IRS person once by telling her how Revenue Canada was exponentially more evil than the much-feared-and-maligned-Internal Revenue Service.
AND! It's Friday! And payday! And Emily[0] is watching the boy this afternoon! And I found out how to get my personal statement filled out for SPU without the intervention of a nonexistent minister! And it's the end of a dev cycle in Chris's department at work (a phenomenon known as ZBB, which does not in any way stand for Zaphod anything Beeblebrox) so he might even be able to come home before 9PM again! And we're touring Northwest Center!
Damn. It's a good day.
... hopefully.
