attack of the medical professionals
Aug. 21st, 2006 09:50 amThere are times when the desire to do what is Best For The Boy is briefly superceded by the desire to not tear every strand of my hair out and become bald. The balance swings back eventually, and that's probably one of the reasons people think I am a Good Mom, but I still retain a certain amount of jealous desire to keep my own sanity in check.
Most of the time. I called the opthamology (because the child needs an eye appointment) and audiology (because the child needs his hearing tested) departments at Seattle Children's Hospital today. May God have mercy on me. :P I'll probably be flying solo to these, because Chris has to work. (I also finally managed to get hold of the phone number to a contact Sean's counsellor at the Commission for the Blind has with a private practice in Lynnwood and works with blind nonverbal (and frequently but not exclusively autistic) children. Maybe we can score some insight or good potty training methods.)
(Another reason why Sean's counselor rocks - he actually offered to drive us up there (there == Lynnwood) if we couldn't get there any other way.)
Anyone have any good experiences with Seattle Children's? Or bad ones?
(Parenthetical: I was amused on reading their driving directions page when I saw that all vehicles over a certain weight and size (which includes SUVs) have to park in the Whale parking lot instead of the Giraffe parking lot. Subtle hint, you think? Silly Phinnia.)
