monday morning drive by
Aug. 28th, 2006 11:03 amCraigslist is good sometimes, for all the bitching I did about babysitters and daycares on it. Yesterday evening we scored a new kitchen trash can (with lid!), a spare carseat for the boy (to maybe keep at
doubletake's house?) and two shiny chairs, the better to use our table with. The booster seat has been Officially Retired, and we have something which resembles a dining room. And I have my desk chair back! It can now be used as a desk chair! Which means that I can use my desk as (shock!) a desk!
Small victories.
I thought about getting a plant for the table. Then I realized that the cats would just eat it. Then I remembered that some plants are GOOD for cats to eat, so the obvious compromise solution is to find a plant which is good for them to graze on.
I can't decide if I'm spoiling them or not. :-D
There is a hill between Western and First on Virginia downtown that is so bad it has a HAND RAILING going up the hill. I walked up it yesterday, biggest mistake of my life or at least of the month. I just about passed out.
Guys? If you have to put an ASSISTIVE DEVICE on the hill? It's TOO DAMN STEEP.
Today's plans: possibly finish 'Love in the Time of Cholera' (which is better than I expected) and finish assembling music for
maladaptive because I am a slacker. I also still owe
kay_willow a package, which is still half packed because of stupid people wanting bills paid and things. :P Tomorrow begins
peaceflower's tenure as our Part-time Weekday Nanny Person, so THINGS MIGHT ACTUALLY GET DONE during the week. Maybe I might even be able to WRITE again? Who knows.
Also this week: the first round of audiology testing. And ... I am looking forward to that about as much as you would think.
(Seriously, as much as I hate asking because I'm like that: if anyone wanted to come along for moral support to the lovely first round of audiology testing (Wednesday at 2:30) I probably wouldn't say no. Failing that, if anyone wanted to think calming thoughts in Seaners' direction during that point in time, that would be most excellent as well. I'm more worried about him than myself; as long as he's calm, I'll be fine.)
BPAL people: is there a difference between Old London and London? I can't find the former in the catalogue, but I'm getting an imp of it, apparently...
