Octopus-squid hybrid discovered. I think it's awesome that we're still discovering new animals. It gives me a little hope that we aren't totally screwing over the planet.
How pain distracts the brain.
This summer is so much less overwhelming and scary than last summer. I'm in a much better headspace (thank god for better living through chemistry!) and Seaners is definitely more independent now. Plus the respite three times a week is helpful, and so is knowing more people in the area.
And there's the move, of course. It'll be so much easier to get around in the u-district. Seven days to go. I still have to pack up the bedrooms, but that's not too bad - it's just finding time to do it, because The Boy likes to wander around and cause chaos and disorder when he's not being monitored, and our room is kind of isolated. Ergh. Must solve this issue somehow ... I don't want to just be able to pack that room when Chris is home, and I don't want to take Sean in there, because we're trying to reinforce the notion that You Do Not Need Anything In Mommy And Daddy's Room, Thank You, Even If Mommy Does Keep Good Stim Toys in There. (I'm actually talking about pill bottles. Thankfully he has yet to find the hiding place where I stash my other *ahem* stim toys. This will undoubtedly change, but I'm in no hurry.)
Although I swore up and down I'd never do it, I'm actually thinking of getting one of those wheely-walker thingies with the seat on them and the basket on the front. Might be easier to walk around with the boy that way - I can park him on the seat while I push it. There are some things in our new neighborhood that are easy to walk to by myself, but if I have to take him and use my crutches at the same time it's a severe pain in the butt. (Since one of those things is his pediatrician's office, this is a problem.) I can only use one crutch and I have to hold his hand with the other, plus the crutch ... seriously annoying and actually kind of painful too.
Or I just need a bike + kid trailer .... something like this on a regular bike would solve the balance issues I've got more cheaply than an adult tricycle. Yes! That is much better. Although more expensive. :P Sometimes I miss the stroller days, sometimes I don't. *pokes around a bit* Holy CRAP bikes are expensive. And I know nothing about them! Wow! All of this forks and frames and thousands of dollars and OMG confusing. *headexplody*
