Yesterday:

Found out that the pastry program I'm enrolling in will have an enforced six month break between the 4th and 5th quarter due to renovation of the facilities. Should be able to get a job with four quarters worth of experience (here's hoping.) Still, freakin' annoying.

Found out that the pain clinic doesn't perscribe pain meds, which I'm running out of due to flare, just before a three day holiday weekend. (Called doctor's assistant. She said to call after the pain clinic apointment. Will do. I <3 my doctor's assistant.)

Today should be FUN. Off and away!

Pain specialist only moderately helpful. Kid being sent home from school AGAIN with rash. No school monday. Life? I'm a mother. Life not allowed. Hate.

aftermath

You know you're tired when you fall asleep as the dentist is drilling your teeth - and you aren't on a general, just a local. OMG. (I like my dentist, and have been blessed with a string of nice, competent, not-scary dentists.)

The kid's rash: skin reaction from either (a) stimming with something he shouldn't have, or (2) high-acid foods like the satsumas in his lunch. One or the other. Either way not contagious. The fever once again was less than a freakin' degree. I'm going to get a note from his pediatrician that says his temperature set point is commonly hot, because this is STUPID.

The school nurse: literally shocked that I was actually out of the house this morning. Me == pissed. This was the same school nurse that scolded me last time for sending him to school sick, even though when he left the house he wasn't sick. The school nurse and I, I can tell, are not going to get along well.

Trying to schedule some backup care for Monday morning to make life easier.

Doctor: is going to double the neurontin dose and call in some more tylenol 3's. Apparently there are also tylenol 4's, which have double the amount of codeine! I learned that today. Primary care doctor == rocks.

Will nag the rehab people about including pain management in my PT on Monday. I'm tired.

(But I do like my new chibi-house-and-wilson-having-coffee-which-may-or-may-not-be-drugged-of-course icon.)
