bookmeme - do it if you want to.
Jan. 18th, 2008 09:10 am1. One book that changed your life.
Emergence: Labelled Autistic - Temple Grandin. (because it showed me how Sean thinks.)
2. One book that you've read more than once.
The Tassajara Cookbook. (because it's an interesting mix of zen and cooking.)
3. One book you’d want on a desert island.
The Ultimate Worst Case Survival Handbook: Travel Edition (for obvious reasons, and because it's funny.)
4. Two books that made you laugh.
Crooked Little Vein - Warren Ellis (that brilliant, sick, twisted man)
The Good Fairies of New York - Martin Millar (OMG hysterical.)
5. One book that made you cry.
The Velveteen Rabbit. (Saddest book EVER.)
6. One book that you wish had been written.
Mine. Any of them. If that's not a good enough answer: How to Teach Your Blind Nonverbal Autistic Kid How To Use The Potty In Twenty Four Hours.
7. One book that you wish had never been written.
Mars and Venus in the Bedroom - John Grey. (my ex used this book as a copout for being lazy and substandard in regards to sex by claiming I wanted sex too often (OMG every week or ten days or so) and I was pressuring him to actually satisfy me.)
8. Two books you’re currently reading.
One of
machineplay's latest drafts.
Harmful to Minors: The Perils of Protecting Children From Sex - Judith Levine (fascinating; eye opening; terrifying.)
9. One book you’ve been meaning to read.
The Golden Compass - Phillip Pullman (I have it; I'm just working my way through a stack of library books.)
Emergence: Labelled Autistic - Temple Grandin. (because it showed me how Sean thinks.)
