lots of things

today: finally with no appointments and a working elevator, i'm going out to get some errands run - mailing things, picking up things and so on. will write this afternoon for sure; may go back to painting again, or possibly not. i'm pretty damn pleased about this run of productivity.

things i'm doing lately:

reading leaves from the note-book of a new york detective. the same sort of thing as sherlock holmes (without the subtext) but earlier, and set in new york. highly recommended.

listening to: fantasies, the new metric album.

knitting (soon, anyway) one-shot lace hat. i've got some gorgeous linen in a turquoise blue from my stash. i just need the needles to arrive.

buying from: the loopy ewe. (disclaimer: i get referral bonus from them) that said it's a great website, especially if you knit socks or lace. friendly staff, great inventory, fast shipping turnaround.

going today: stitches in seattle.

searching for: a new podiatrist. will high-priority that when i get back, as well as calling the kid's dental place that sirriamnis recommended.

things i want to learn soon: crocket. (i have to tools and an instruction book, i just haven't started. Anyyone have any great patterns? (if you're on ravelry, i'm phinnia there too.)

speaking of other places: i'm 'phinnia' at dreamwidth. i'm thinking about crossposting, and backing up my LJ there, because it's easy to do, it backs up all your comments, etc. etc.

i don't think they'll let you do that even in places where haggling is commonplace. The postal service's rates go up. It sucks but there's nothing that can be done and all you're doing is annoying the people behind you in line.
