I challenge all of the writers on my list to answer the following question, brought about from a comment made by [livejournal.com profile] hai_kah_uhk.

How do your characters like their eggs?

Because life is all about the details.

The main ones:
Jack likes eggs benedict. Of course, he doesn't make it himself. Jack's eggs can be used as frisbees. Jack is the worst cook in the world, and has been known to ruin macaroni and cheese. The boxed kind. Anthony had to learn to cook: it was survival.
Allanna likes a particular egg-and-root-vegetable dish from her homeworld - it's kind of like a potatolike crust with eggs baked on top similar to an egg pie; she's also partial to sunny-side up.
Stephen likes his eggs over-easy with lots of hot sauce, but his ulcer tends to disagree with that. Of course, he eats them anyway and feels rotten for the rest of the day. The going theory is that that's why he's so crabby all the time, because of this dispute regarding spicy food.
Fabian will eat just about anything. He's constantly underweight and he eats like a trucker. He far prefers Hyperexploding Chocolate Frosted Marshmallow Bombs (Now with real exploding marshmallows!) which he is mildly addicted to. They turn the milk dark brown and chocolatey. At least once he pours coffee on them and calls it a 'mocha in a bowl'.
Audra likes lightly scrambled eggs, but they have to be very soft and creamy because she's picky like that. Audra is very much all about certain picky little things. She only uses Crabtree and Evelyn lily of the valley soap, for example.
Anthony likes omelets or quiches, and so does Emily. (Without meat; they're both vegetarian.)
Jakob likes fried egg sandwiches. With cheese. But he prefers apple butter on toast because it makes him think of home.
Evan has a typical fried four-eggs-bacon-toast-steak-ham-and-sausage breakfast. With grease.
Sarah doesn't usually eat eggs because they're not geek food, (as in can't be eaten over a keyboard very well) but she likes soft boiled eggs with toast fingers and pepper.
Alex also likes eggs benedict, and he can cook it a lot better than his younger brother.
Ross doesn't eat eggs, he eats yogurt in the mornings instead, because he got that from Anneka when they were dating. (By implication, she doesn't eat eggs either.) If it isn't yogurt, it's peanut butter and mango sandwiches.

Your turn!

I got my Casey and Andy poster. *bounces*
(Which leads me to wonder (maybe [livejournal.com profile] deyo or [livejournal.com profile] mactavish can answer this) is Andy's real significant other (assuming he has one of course and if not all questions are moot) based on Satan? And more importantly, how do they feel about that?
Now of course one has to ask oneself where to hang an 'everything I needed to know I learned from Satan' poster.
The sofa and small desk are enroute; they should be here later this afternoon.
And I am the lucky winner of another card from [livejournal.com profile] dharmamomma, who is just a seriously nifty person. *hugses*

Our laundry room is totally busted. Of course. The day before we leave. Damnit. Fortunately we can just pack dirty stuff and do laundry when we get there, which is not the way I like to do things, but it beats running all over Portland looking for a laundromat without a car and with a two year old and a proverbial asston and a half of laundry.

Hm.

If [livejournal.com profile] doubletake is Together Woman! and [livejournal.com profile] tallin is With-It Man!, what do I get to be? I want a spiffy superheroname too.

Manga geeks: if I liked Pretear, what else might I like? I'm in the mood lately for more graphic novels.

I love this song.

It's furniture day here at Station 4.
We now have a sofa (fine condition, merely needs slipcover) and a desk (which I think I put together wrong, but it's perfectly functional for what I want it for which is really just a surface to do craftythings on) and in about an hour I'm about to trade our old 802.11b wireless router for a bed for The Schnecken. A real twin bed. Which is good, because he's pretty much outgrown the ol' toddler bed. He is a TALL kid. As kids go.
Eventually he'll just pick us up and move us. We're short (I'm 5'4"; Chris is 5'6"). So where this came from I have no idea. Apparently my birth father was tall. We'll just assume that's it.

Next on Stuff for Talphinisean: new dressers for all and a nice dining room table. I'm eyeing one in the Crate and Barrel outlet section that'll seat 4 or 6 if it's folded out (it's a nifty little thing). And eventually a bedframe for us. (Yeah, I know, we've lived here for six months nearly and we're still half-furnitureless. It's a serious pain if you don't have a car, and most furniture websites either take forever to deliver or charge a ludicrous amount that's almost more than the furniture.) Plus if I'm going to pay a lot for stuff I want it to be Perfect, because I'm not going to replace stuff every two or three months. Not to mention we moved at the end of garage sale season. :-)

The cats love the new sofa. Silk has already claimed part of the back as his own personal sleep-place.

In exciting root canal news, I still can't chew much on the left because it hurts to chew anything less soft than a very ripe banana (this is probably, in retrospect, good for it; gives it time to heal) but I can open my mouth more than I could yesterday and the pain is mostly a nonfactor. I think I've only had to take one Aleve today, and that was this morning.

So, erm. Yeah. I'm tired, but I can sit down now and put my feet up.

[livejournal.com profile] doubletake has christened me thusly.
Put together Sean's bed (a reasonably nice danish modernish single bed with stubby short legs; the mattress can go to two heights and the headboard has shelves on it to put some of his stuffed toys.). The only thing that was wrong with it was that one of the sidebits was slightly bent, which I fixed with a hammer. Of course, the bed got back at me by causing me to drop the bloody box spring on my toe and causing me to say bad words like Heck and Darn.
The mattress is in reasonable shape (it'll probably want replacing in the next year or two, but for now, it's fine).
Chris has moved money to our vacation account (aka: a prepaid mastercard) and picked up our train tickets. He is now on his way home. And verily we say, yay.
I need to pack still. But I can get up early in the morning and do that. I'm dead tired right now. Time for stirfry and coffee and good things like that indeedly yes.
*bounceVancouverbounce!* We crash for a night in Seattle tomorrow, take an early morning train to Vancouver, spend three days there, and come back Tuesday afternoon. I'm looking forward to it. Anyone been there? Anything I shouldn't miss?
