More fool I, I had to take a fourth class this fall. But I couldn't resist 'Film Genres in Context'. Ah, film and cultural studies, you were my first loves, and I love you still.

To that end: I want to get an internship at the Northwest Film Institute. Must research this for capstones. They give free admission to their interns, and occasionally tuition discounts ... *chews off arm* This is my dream job, working for some kind of arts organization. (Well, assuming that I can't travel the world at someone else's expense and write short fiction.)

Things I'm worrying about: Sean's fiddling with his ears more than usual. Please let it not be an ear infection.

And now I'm off to the doctor and Powells to sell some used books and pick up some new ones. *staples hand to forehead dramatically* It's a terrible job, spending an hour or so in the best bookstore on earth, but someone's got to do it.

ordinary day

• $55.07 spent at Powells, of which $53.00 was credit from selling back books. Major scores of the day: perfectly good 'teach yourself dutch' CD set with vaguely cracked case which set me back $7, totally adorable notepad from Japan containing puppies and cherry blossoms, pendant of Sarasvati. Truly awesome sales in general. Minor irritant: accidentally picked up books #1 and #3 of Artemis Fowl without getting book #2. (Anyone read those? Are they good?)
  
• How come no one twisted my arm and forced me to go to Baja Fresh before now?
  
• Places found: NW Film Institute (it's a SIGN, I tell you), architecturally nifty little church downtown, place that sells gelato in the Brewery Blocks.
  
• Albuterol inhalers taste like ew.
  
• Nothing on the novel draft this evening; however, lack of concrete plans for tomorrow + boy stored offsite for most of the day mean it's possible to catch up on word count. Interesting piece here though.
