phinnia: smiling dolphin face (cuban road signs)
It wouldn't be moving if I didn't get sick, would it? I'd say 'what else can go wrong' but I'm afraid the universe would answer me.

Hopefully have found solution to moving problem. Although if anyone out there knows some nice people willing to drive to Seattle this weekend via Portland I probably wouldn't say no ... *puppydogeyes*

The spouse is a genius. He found a moving company for only about $150 more than the UHaul would have cost us with gas in it. Score.

Now I may have to find cat boarders for a week ... *facepalm* Anyone local know of any good cat boarders? The one woman I was able to get from our vet might be booked.

But our keys are being overnighted guaranteed < 10:30 delivery. So that's something.

Kidnews:
I got a copy of the Demon's IEP yesterday. Interesting reading, because it's been about six months which means I've forgotten a lot of the minor goals in it. They threw a progress report in (I adore our IEP team and hope the one in Seattle is as good) and as usual the child managed to surprise me...

"Can indicate five major body parts."
What? He can?
"Is beginning to initiate play with other children."
Really now.
"Will participate in whole group activities."
Well damn, he's doing better than his mother on that one, some days. I never participated in whole group activities.
"Will put an item of clothing to the appropriate part of his body." (emerging skill with cueing)
Except when I'm watching, of course.

Little brat. :-D

Good
Found boarding for the cats (woo! and free, too - a friend of ours is watching them).
Seaners' new word approximation: 'love you'
Hopefully I can get free train tickets to Seattle for The Seed and Myself (yay Amtrak Guest Rewards Points)
Packed most of the dishes, and most of the bathroom.
Meeting with EmmiEmmiEmmi on the far side, whee!

Bad
Still more packing needed.
Leaving on an 8:45 a.m. train with a four year old that detests mornings in order for one of us to get to Seattle before the movers do.
My blog is filled with boring posts whining about moving. I promise this will stop soon. I swear. It had better, because I'm boring myself.
Not to mention we still need to do the damned taxes. Someday we will actually do the damn things before the deadline. Not this year though. At least no one's died this year, I suppose, unlike 2002. Maybe filing for an extension would be better. How much of a pain in the tuckus is filing taxes from out of state? (We do not do our own taxes; the 1099s are too confusing. We go to tax peoples and pay them for the hassle.)
